I had so much fun making this shawl that I found on KnitPicks website. It was designed by Chelsea Berkompas, who has quite a few other patterns to choose from on KnitPick's site (I noticed she is also on Ravelry). I thought it would be good for those cool summer/fall evenings when you want something over your shoulders, but not too much. I actually ordered the kit because I liked the color palette - still summery! The CotLin DK yarn included in the kit is 70% cotton and 30% linen which knits up quite nicely. There are a million colors (ok, 34) to choose from in the CotLin line if the kit colors don't suit your fancy. In their description, KnitPicks describes this cotton/linen blend as absorbent with a soft hand, creating a durable fabric that becomes softer with each washing.
My shawl is nice and soft with good stitch definition, though I haven't blocked it yet, as you can probably see from the photo above--I'm hopeful it will become even more pliable. I'm going to make dishcloths for Christmas stocking stuffers with the remainder!
